On characteristic classes of singular hypersurfaces and involutive symmetries of the Chow group

For any algebraic scheme $X$ and every $(n,\mathscr{L})\in \mathbb{Z}\times \text{Pic}(X)$ we define an associated involution of its Chow group $A_*X$, and show that certain characteristic classes of (possibly singular) hypersurfaces in a smooth variety are interchanged via these involutions. For $X=\mathbb{P}^N$ we show that such involutions are induced by involutive correspondences

嶺南學院於一九九二年獲政府資助在屯門虎地計劃興建一座 面積三萬四仟平方米之新校舍，第一期設施包括二仟學生使 用之教學大樓、圖書館、行政樓及文康設施之主建築群於一 九九五年正式啟用，造價為三億八仟萬。而第二期設施包括 一仟伍佰學生之學生宿舍，一仟二佰席之演奏廳，教職員及 校長宿舍等，為一較完善之大專學院規劃。 校址座落於農村及前虎地軍營上，東依郊野綠翠，面臨青山 路 旁 ，環境優雅脱俗。 In 1992, Lingnan College commissioned to plan a new campus in Fu Tei, Tuen Mun with teaching and amenities facilities of 34,000m2 GFA to be provided for 2000 Students within a tight budget of HK $380 million in the first phase. Subsequent phases will offer a total of 1,500 hostel places for students together with an Auditorium of 1200 seats, a President Lodge and Staff Quarters. The Main Campus site is fronting Castle Peak Road to the west and the Country Park lies on the hill slopes to the east. Off-the-record target zones:theory with an application to Hong Kong’s Currency Board

This paper provides a modelling framework for evaluating the exchange rate dynamics of a target zone regime with undisclosed bands. We generalize the literature to allow for asymmetric one-sided regimes. Market participants' beliefs concerning an undisclosed band change as they learn more about central bank intervention policy. We apply the model to Hong Kong's one-sided currency board mechanism. In autumn 2003, the Hong Kong dollar appreciated from close to 7.80 per US dollar to 7.70, as investors feared that the currency board would be abandoned. In the wake of this appreciation, the monetary authorities finally revamped the regime as a symmetric two-sided system with a narrow exchange rate band

Handbook on Employment of Persons with a Disability - Support Services

[Excerpt] Nowadays, more and more employers are willing to employ persons with a disability after learning about their working capacity. However, some employers who wish to offer them employment opportunities might have concern over their accommodation in workplace and have reservation about employing them. In fact, there are various services offered by different organisations with a view to facilitating open employment of persons with a disability so that they could fit in to their work and integrate into society. This handbook is published by the Selective Placement Division of the Labour Department in order to enhance the confidence of employers who have already employed disabled staff or those who wish to employ persons with a disability by introducing a range of support services and the means through which these services could be acquired. We hope that by introducing these support services to employers and disabled employees, the working relationship between them will be enhanced
